Dairy Monitoring Panel

A warm tank, a failed wash or a dead compressor is cheap to fix when you hear about it in minutes and expensive when you find it at the next milking.

What it is

A panel, sensors and a phone app

A wall-mounted panel with sensors on your tanks, lines and equipment, and a dashboard on your phone that alerts you when a reading is wrong.

It sits beside your tank controls and switches nothing. Sensors strap onto lines and tanks or use existing wells, and nothing is added to a milk contact surface.

Milk temperature

Know every tank is cold

Milk temperature on each tank, with the cooling time counted from the start of milking.

Wash

Catch a cold wash the same day

Wash water temperature through each step, so a failed wash is found before the next milking.

Equipment

See what is running

Compressor, agitator and vacuum, plus hot water at the heater and milk through the plate cooler.

Power

Hear about an outage

The panel runs on its battery long enough to tell you the power is out, and again when it is back.

Alerts

What it tells you, and when

Slow coolingMilk not down to temperature within the time you set from the start of milking.
Cold wash waterWash water below the temperature the detergent step needs.
Hot water lowWater heater below its limit before a wash is due.
Compressor or agitator not runningThe tank is calling for it and it has not started.

Refrigeration service

We also work on the cooling equipment

The same people who build your panel can service the refrigeration it is watching, so an alert does not end with a search for someone to call.

Ask about service
  • Bulk tank refrigeration: condensing units, compressors, controls and leaks.
  • Chillers and plate coolers: diagnosis, repair and setup.
  • Preventive maintenance: coil cleaning, charge and electrical checks before the hot months.
  • Controls: tank and wash controls, sensors and wiring faults.

Service is by arrangement. Tell us what you have and where you are and we will tell you what we can cover.

Common questions

Questions about the dairy monitoring panel

Does it replace my tank's temperature recorder?

No. It is an alerting and logging system that works alongside the recording equipment your tank is required to have.

We have no internet in the barn. Does that matter?

No. The panel carries its own cellular connection. The monthly fee covers it.

What happens when the power goes out?

The panel runs on its battery long enough to send a power-failure alert, and tells you again when power is back.

Can it run the wash and the pumps as well?

Yes, as a second step. Most farms start with monitoring. The control package is built per farm and quoted separately.

Who gets the alerts?

Whoever you choose: you, family, a herdsman, your refrigeration contractor. Each person can have their own login.

Who installs it?

We can, or your electrician or equipment dealer can mount it and land the sensor wires. We finish the setup remotely.

What does it cost?

A one-time price for the panel and sensors, then a monthly monitoring fee. Both depend on how many points you want watched, so call for a quote.
